August 23, 2006 - My Log Saw Something
I was at Kim's, and we were out on her front steps. I noticed I had a ticket on my car window. That made no sense; I didn't do anything wrong. Apparently the ticket was for parking too close to the yellow paint on the curb. WTF? People park with their cars hanging over that yellow line all the time! In fact, there were about three cars around, that I noticed had been there since the night before, that were either hanging over the yellow, or closer to the yellow than I was!
I wasn't going to stand for this. I wasn't going to give in. I was going to fight this. I had left my cell phone in Kims place, so there was a lot of running back and forth trying to get it, and then trying to locate what number to call. There was nothing clear on the ticket. I was pissed. Then some dude ran into my car.
This jerk was driving a white thing; I'm not sure exactly what it was, but I didn't care. And he didn't just tap Sedgewick, he kept going. He kept driving until his white piece of crap was on top of my little blue Subaru. I screamed at him. He finally backed up and parked across the street. Yeah, like I was going to let this go. I chased after him and somewhere in that persuit, Kim and I realized he had done that to distract us. There was something going on. We found what we thought was his car, but it belonged to a little old lady. We walked back to Kim's place.
I saw the guy standing right in front of Kim's apartment. Without thinking, I socked him right in the face...no effect. He pulled out a knife, and Kim and I hid under the porch. I tried to figure out what the non emergency number was for the police, just to tell them what this guy did to my car, and the fact that he was still here. Finally I just said "screw it" and called 911. I tried to be very quiet so this guy had no idea I was calling the police. Also, Kim and I were listening to a conversation he was having with Kim's corrupt male landlord. There was something in the apartment worth money, and they were trying to get it.
After the jerk with the knife and the hatred of my car left the area, Kim and I went up the steps to her apartment. Corrupt landlord guy was still around, and we decided we'd test him. Kim and I spoke loudly about some money she had just come into. Interestingly enough, there was a ten dollar bill on the step. I was about to pick it up, but I decided to leave it. Our plot worked. Corrupt landlord took the bait and told Kim she owed him money for some stupid thing she didn't even have a part of. She refused. (I'm not sure what all this was supposed to accomplish, but whatever it was, it did.)
Well, when we got into Kim's apartment, we saw what all the fuss was about. There were two white dishes with moving red circles on them. The circles kind of flowed like ripples in the water. I knew automatically what these were, and they definately couldn't get into the wrong hands. It was the Black Lodge and the White Lodge. Each of them were held captive in one of the dishes. I knew the only way to release them was to break the dishes. We had to protect them. I didn't know what we were going to do, but I was afraid.
Jerk boy busted in, and a fight ensued. He kept stabbing at me with his knife, and I kept grabbing it, and forcing it someplace else. Whenever it seemed like he could overpower me, I'd move. I also kept trying to lock him out, but somehow he would get through the door. He pulled out a gun, and I got shot in the bottom of my foot. It was painful. He explained that he knew what those dishes were. They were the lost fourth book (apparently in two parts) of the Lord of the Rings Saga, "The Two Circles". I don't know if he just wanted them because he was a geek, or if he was going to profit off of them someway. But either way, he was wrong, and I tried telling him so. "It's the Black Lodge!" I kept yelling. No one listened.
Jerk boy was duped into believing a white bowl (with blue trim) was "The Two Circles" and left. At least that's what I thought. Somehow I was able to see through the door, and I saw him coming back, gun cocked and everthing. I pushed the door closed with all my might, but he still shot through it. In slow motion I saw the bullet come out of the gun, and was able to move out of the way just in time. Beaker and this other black cat (but not Little Cat) were walking in and out of the apartment by way of pulling a corner of the door. Crap. That's how Jerk boy got back in.
I was sure he was going to shoot Beaker, and after my near death experience, I knew the only way to survive was to give him the dishes. Was this really worth dying for? I came to my senses rather quickly. I couldn't let the Black Lodge be unleashed on the world. Plus, I may live, but I would suffer even more for the rest of my life. The Black Lodge is an evil beyond all others. I couldn't let that happen. I'd rather die trying, quickly, than burn in hell.
More fighting ensued. The gun was gone, and it was back to the knife. I tried wrestling it away, but Jerk boy was too strong. It didn't matter though, because I had forgotten about the greedy Corrupt Landlord. The dishes had turned into books in order to tempt and fool them. The Corrupt Landlord grabbed one of them, and dropped it to the ground. One of the Lodges had been released. I didn't even have time to hope it was the White one before I felt the evil. I yelled "drop the other one!" The White Lodge had to be released in order for us to even have a chance of defeating the Black Lodge. The Corrupt Landlord finally did as I said, but the book didn't hit the ground, it fell on his foot. I ran up to it and threw it down. The White Lodge had been released. I was the only one who realized any of this.
Immediately things became weird. There were evil spirits all around, but apparently only I could see them. Marissa was with us now, and we were no longer in Kim's apartment. I looked at everything as we passed, and it was all evil. I asked Marissa if she saw anything I did, and she said "No." Only I saw the undead with their pale skin and their demonous eyes. Then I thought of Agent Cooper. If the Black Lodge could take over even him, what chance did we have? I was completely scared and freaked out.
We came across a group of people. My mother was playing with some Barbie dolls, and Marissa and I joined her. My mom's Barbies were performing some kind of musical, and she had a whole Barbie audience. Then the Barbies started to move on their own. I grabbed Marissas attention with that one, but she had a theory that there was a puppeteer above us doing all that. There was nothing sinister. Then the Barbies started getting weird, and we could see there were no strings attatched. THEN people started to listen to me.
I explained to the group about the evils of the Black Lodge, and how we had to take it down from the inside. "But, only the purest heart can get in and out of the Black Lodge untouched." Anyone who was less than pure or had a doubt in their mind would be taken over by the evil and turned into a doppleganger, just like Agent Cooper. Victor volunteered. I begged him not to go. He didn't make it.
An older man, quite possibly Major Briggs, had attended the meeting. I started say that I was afraid this was a losing battle. There can't be anyone out there with a heart that pure. We were doomed. Major Briggs interjected. He told me that twenty years ago this very thing had happened. One man went into the depths of the Black Lodge and came out alive, and whole, trapping it back into that dish. That man was actually with us. It was my dad. I was highly impressed. I had no clue he had risked his life for the good fight, but I was afraid. Was my dad still pure of heart after twenty years? Would he even try? What if I lost him? I didn't know if we had any other option. I wasn't sure I could handle it.
The loud crack of thunder as the lightning struck close by woke me up.
It's still out there...
