May 1, 2006 - Back at Arms Length...it's about time

Kim and I had plans with Eric and Justine. We were going to see a movie in Schaumburg. Dont' ask me why Schaumburg, but it was Schaumburg. (Maybe I just like saying Schaumburg.) Eric was supposed to pick me up at my house the next day. For some reason, I had to go to Jennifer's house for like a sleepover or something, I don't know. All I know is I stole my parents comforter, and when I came back the next morning, I forgot their comforter, but I stole Jennifer's.

I was in a hurry. Eric was supposed to be there at 7pm for a 7:15 show. I kept telling him it takes more than 15 minutes to get to Schaumburg from my house, but he wouldn't listen. I had like 45 minutes to get ready, but things just kept coming up. Kim was at my house. I had to explain to my parents where there comforter was. Once I told my mom she told me I had to make sure to wash it. I asked her if I had to take it to the cleaners and use the large machines, and she said yes. I said that I should probably take mine in too, and she just told me it would take longer. I went to the laundrymat. There were no free machines.

I was back at home and I had 5 minutes until Eric was supposed to be there. I didn't even have time to take a shower. I put on my black Kill Hannah longsleeved shirt with the hood, and threw a jacket over it. Well, somehow, the jacket left crazy residue all over my shirt that I couldn't get off. I had to change. Kim and I waited for a while. 7pm came and went. So did 7:15. At 8pm, Eric finally showed. I was in my parents bedroom talking to them, and they said I had to bring Eric and Justine in to meet them. So I did. Kim and I headed out to the car. I made her scoot in next to Dan, and we were off.

It only took 10 minutes to get to Schaumburg from my house. We even ate dinner quickly. We had of course missed the movie, so instead we went to some place with all these ships. It was like an amusement park in the fact that you could climb over and explore the ships, and that parking was a pain. There were no rides or anything though. We walked around, and checked things out. It was pretty cool for me. Justine and Eric climbed onto a big ship, and I tried to follow. There were too many people, I just couldn't get through.

I want to say Marissa was there, but I can't verify if it was her, Kim, both, or neither that came with me as I drove my car around looking for the best place to enter. I kept finding parking spaces I either couldn't fit in, or that just didn't seem right. I saw Justine standing with Danny (not Dan), and I flagged her over. Danny mimicked my motions, like he was making fun of me. He had a white bandage covering his right eye.

Justine came over and showed us where we should park. It read "15 minute parking" and I didn't want to be towed. We found one that said "25 minute parking" and I figured that was fine. So Justine, me, and my counterpart (Rissa, Kim, both or neither) walk over to the edge of the ship, where Danny was. "So what's up with your hair?" I asked him. I meant to say "eye," but it came out "hair." He told me that as he came in, some guy was giving him a hard time, just saying he didn't like it. "So what's up with your eye?" I said it right this time.

I never did find out, because we had to leave. I thought to myself, I guess I could have parked in the 15 minute space.
